New Real Madrid signing Yan Diomandé has this week shed light on one of his leading inspirations in Spain’s capital. This comes amid confirmation on the part of the young winger that he considers Cristiano Ronaldo to be the club’s best player ever.
Attacker Diomandé is for his part of course fresh off putting pen to paper on terms with new employers Real Madrid.
After something of a breakout campaign on the books of German outfit RB Leipzig, the Ivorian made his way onto the transfer shortlist of a whole host of clubs across Europe.
In the end, though, it was the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu who confirmed their willingness to meet the understandably considerable demands laid out by their counterparts in Leipzig.
Diomandé, in turn, this week arrived in Spain’s capital, before being officially unveiled as the latest high-profile addition to José Mourinho’s ranks.
And as alluded to above, the 19-year-old has already set about endearing himself to supporters of his new club. During an exchange with the media on Friday, Diomandé was asked if he has a personal favourite Blancos star from years gone by.
And the starlet did not hesitate in confirming:
“My favourite Real Madrid player ever? Cristiano Ronaldo.”
