The Bloodline have loomed large for years, while The 946 has become an instant threat on WWE Raw, leaving questions about Judgment Day.
Recent episodes of WWE Raw have showcased the tensions between The Bloodline and The 946, with both factions colliding on the recent episode.
It should come as no surprise that a story involved Roman Reigns is taking top billing but, with Liv Morgan noting Judgment Day is “a little bit stagnant”, it does beg the question as to what purpose her faction serves:
Judgment Day For Life
In comments made on Six Feet Under prior to recapturing the WWE Women’s World Championship at Money in the Bank, Liv Morgan claimed that she would be with Judgment Day “forever”, with Dominik Mysterio sharing a similar sentiment.
She would, however, admit that she feels the faction is “a little bit stagnant right now”, although would profess to being “happy” with that’s going on. Mysterio would also state that they’ve “had some struggles”.
For Morgan, she’s been a member of Judgment Day since August 2024, having worked her way into the faction during Rhea Ripley’s absence, with her involvement pretty much cemented at SummerSlam in that month. Mysterio’s history with Judgment Day goes back to September 2022, with the star abandoning his father and turning on Edge.
The drama became comedy
Judgment Day hasn’t been without humor over its existence, particularly with the Ripley and Mysterio relationship, his whole “prison” experience and his initial reluctance towards Morgan and, later, Roxanne Perez, but there was drama there, too.
Whether it was Ripley’s rivalries, Mysterio and his family troubles, Balor and his desire to lead a leaderless faction, or Priest being positioned as World Heavyweight Champion, it felt like there was a purpose to Judgment Day that could effectively be underlined by the involvement of a star like R-Truth without taking away from what they offered.
Currently, however, it feels like Judgment Day is mired in its comedy trappings, coming out of a feud with Danhausen and moving onto Joe Hendry for the male members of the faction. For Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, they continue to excel as Women’s World Champion and Women’s Intercontinental Champion, respectively. Perez, meanwhile, came up short in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, robbing fans of a potential feud with her Judgment Day teammate.
Righting the ship
With the Danhausen feud in the history books and JD McDonagh’s rivalry with Joe Hendry seeming going the same way, there are opportunities to right the ship, with Dominik Mysterio having reportedly been left “frustrated” by WWE booking, compared to the more serious tone his work is taking in AAA.
A shift wouldn’t require Judgment Day to abandon any sense of comedy; it would just require a reframing of when and how it would be used to best effect. There were spots in the Judgment Day clubhouse that worked well: Liv Morgan and her advances on Dominik, Roxanne Perez following a similar trajectory, R-Truth deciding he was a member, the antics of Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. Humor was a feature of some of their in-ring encounters, particularly with Mysterio and the booing, or his “machismo”, and R-Truth was, naturally, a master of this sort of thing.
