With AEW Full Gear taking place on November 14, the recent episode of Dynamite confirmed championship matches and teased more to come.
On a show that set up the men’s Blood and Guts match, taking place on November 4, tag team championship matches were also confirmed for AEW Full Gear.
Elsewhere on the card, other championship challengers emerged, with matches yet to be made official:
Confirmed so far
The Young Bucks faced Davis & Doyle on AEW Dynamite, with the Don Callis Family members exploiting the wear that Matt & Nick Jackson had suffered following their successful title defense against Kyle Fletcher & Kevin Knight at WrestleDream.
With the victory coming in an AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator match, the Young Bucks will defend the title against Davis & Doyle at Full Gear.
Elsewhere, it was confirmed that The Brawling Birds would defend the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship against Wrathlander (Harley Cameron & Kris Statlander).
Unconfirmed, but teased
At the time of writing, the only matches confirmed for Full Gear are the two tag team matches.
Last night’s Dynamite left it clear that Marina Shafir sees herself as a challenger for Mercedes Mone and the Women’s World Championship.
Swerve Strickland would also approach Adam Page, Bandido and Brody King, seeking a rematch for the World Trios Championship, and pitching a Texas Death Match, with the Hangman declining that stipulation.
AEW championship matches yet to factor into Full Gear
The tag team championships are on the line; the Women’s World Championship and World Trios Championship have been teased. That leaves the World Championship, International Championship, Continental Championship, National Championship, TNT Championship, and TBS Championship.
It would be a surprise if Will Ospreay wasn’t a focal point of Full Gear as World Champion, although his attention is no doubt on Blood and Guts. Copeland may want a shot at the title, but so does Samoa Joe, with the star reflecting on Clockwork Carnage at WrestleDream and making his thoughts clear.
The Don Callis Family will be making its mark at Blood and Guts against strong competition that includes the World Champion, World Tag Team Champions and TNT Champion, potentially setting a course for a future when the faction lives up to that “all the gold” mission statement.
Blood and Guts could reveal further AEW championship matches
November 4 sees AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts, with the men’s match confirmed as seeing Will Ospreay, Adam Copeland, Steven Borden, The Young Bucks and Darby Allin face off against The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, Wardlow, Kevin Knight, and Davis & Doyle).
Last night’s Dynamite saw Fletcher stand over a fallen Ospreay, holding the AEW World Championship after a match that saw Okada level Copeland with the International Championship.
It’s likely that Ospreay vs. Fletcher and Okada vs. Copeland will happen, with Cope also seeking an opportunity to challenge for the World Championship. Whether either match will take place at Full Gear remains to be seen, but the stakes are likely to be high coming off the back of Blood and Guts when it comes to how the singles matches could play out.
