For the third straight year, WWE is set to crown it’s men’s and women’s ‘Crown Jewel Champions’ at Crown Jewel, with Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn facing off for the men’s title, while Liv Morgan and Chelsea Green face off for the women’s title.
The recent Crown Jewel Championship concept is similar to the prior brand vs. brand concepts WWE has used in the past, whether it be at the former Bragging Rights event, or more recently at Survivor Series in the late 2010s.
With this year’s event being the third brand vs. brand outing, here’s what an expanded Crown Jewel could look like.
Chad Gable vs. Trick Williams
Chad Gable is currently enjoying his first singles title run in WWE, which began at SummerSlam 2026, the same event where Trick Williams’ first United States Title run ended.
Chad Gable has made the case for himself to arguably be WWE’s wrestler of the year for 2026 following his return to his former name after Noche de los Grandes.
Gable finally captured a singles championship at SummerSlam when he became Intercontinental Champion by defeating Penta, going on to defend the title in TV classics against names like Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix.
On SmackDown, Trick Williams would make for a much different opponent than those Gable has been facing on Raw, but with the form Gable is on, he’d truly be able to bring out the best of Trick as an in-ring performer in a match that could benefit both men.
Raquel Rodriguez vs. Jacy Jayne

WWE’s booking continues to do dirty both women’s midcard titles, with neither being prominently featured on Raw or SmackDown despite the champions, Raquel Rodriguez and Jacy Jayne, appearing weekly on the show.
A clash between Raquel and Jacy would be an interesting one, as both are heel champions that are part of factions, which would likely lead to a bit of an overbooked match with a lot of interference.
Still, it would be nice if WWE actually allowed the midcard champions to wrestle on a PLE, even if the titles weren’t defended.
The Vision vs. The MFTs

Everything previously said about the women’s midcard titles is just as, if not more, true when it comes to the Tag Team Championships.
The Vision have reached 100 days with the World Tag Team Championship without making a single defence, and while the MFTs have made one defence of the WWE Tag Team Championship, it mainly served as a backdrop to set up Damian Priest’s turn on R-Truth, with most of the segments between the MFTs and Bakusai being short vignettes or digital exclusives.
The match doesn’t even have to be anything special, just remind fans that these titles do in fact exist.
Make brand vs. brand more impactful
Brand vs. Brand in WWE has not truly felt like a major thing for well over a decade now, with the timing of the shows often a major problem.
In the late 2010s, WWE would hold the Draft right around September or October, meaning wrestlers would be fighting for the honor of a brand they had only been part of for around a month by the time Survivor Series rolled around.
Furthermore, WWE has never truly honored the brand split, with Raw and SmackDown stars appearing on the other show so often that it is hard to get invested when the time comes.
If WWE is to keep up the brand vs. brand gimmick, they need to take more measures to make sure it’s a major moment when Raw and SmackDown names do battle.
