A major update has emerged regarding the possibility of Drew McIntyre returning to WWE at the Crown Jewel 2026 premium live event on November 7.
It has now been six months since Drew McIntyre last appeared on WWE programming, with “The Scottish Warrior” last being seen in the ring at WrestleMania 42 Night One, where he lost to Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match.
McIntyre had been busy filming his roles in ‘Highlander’ and ‘The Last Druid’, but with his Hollywood obligations now wrapped up rumors and speculation regarding his WWE return have been intensifying.
One of the shows fans looked at as a potential destination of McIntyre’s comeback was Crown Jewel on November 7, as many of Drew’s biggest former rivals are advertised to be in action.
That doesn’t appear to be on the cards after all however, as McIntyre has been announced for a different appearance in the UK on the same night as the Saudi Arabia-based event.
As confirmed by the WWE UK Twitter account, McIntyre will be appearing at Zuffa Boxing’s November 7 show at the Copper Box Arena in London alongside Monday Night Raw’s Bayley, with fans now able to purchase VIP meet and greet tickets for the event.
Interestingly Finn Balor was originally announced to be making an appearance alongside Bayley but it seems as if McIntyre is now in that slot instead.
So… When will Drew McIntyre actually be coming back then?
While this announcement rules out Crown Jewel as a destination for McIntyre’s return, it could also be looked at as another positive sign that he will be back in WWE soon.
There are many creative avenues for Drew to return to action across his home brand of SmackDown and on Raw, with the latter perhaps making the most sense right now.
Not only does SmackDown arguably already have too much main event talent right now, but Raw also has The Bloodline; a group that McIntyre obviously has a lot unfinished business with.
If Roman Reigns is truly looking to right the wrongs of his first Undisputed WWE Title run then he will need to face off with Drew McIntyre one-on-one.
McIntyre was robbed of his big moment by Bloodline interference when Solo Sikoa cost him the Undisputed WWE Championship in front of his home UK fans at Clash at the Castle 2022, and he definitely deserves the chance of redemption.
A title defense against Royce Keys may come first given the whole 946 and Bloodline conflict, but McIntyre could serve as a perfect feud for “The OTC” before he faces off with Oba Femi at WrestleMania 43.
Would it be disappointing to see McIntyre brought back just to lose to Reigns? Of course, but it would at least allow for some closure for Drew after years of carrying that loss in Cardiff with him.
