2026 DUTCH QUALIFIERS
This week brings us the 2026 Dutch Short Course Championships/Dutch Qualifiers taking place in Rotterdam, with action kicking off Thursday, October 22nd.
Short Course World Championships roster slots are on the line, with more names potentially being added to Marrit Steenbergen, Sean Niewold and Caspar Corbeau, who already made the grade by way of their performances achieved on the World Cup circuit.
Koen de Groot, Tes Schouten and Thomas Jansen also met the selection standards; however, their final participation at SC Worlds still depends on their domestic performances this week.
There are 559 athletes registered for the Dutch Qualifiers, spanning 23 nationalities and 1950 individual entries.
We previously reported how 27-year-old Olympian Nyls Korstanje will not be racing at the competition due to having suffered a setback in his return to racing post-injury.
Along with Dutch aces Niewold, Milou van Wijk, Tessa Giele and Valerie van Roon, international talent to the tune of South Africa’s Tatjana Smith, Canada’s Javier Acevedo and Hungary’s Eszter Szabo Feltothy are among the entrants.
For the Dutch swimmers, they’ll be chasing the following qualification times in their quest to stamp their tickets for Beijing.
