Jannik Sinner has officially withdrawn from the Shanghai Masters due to his ongoing right knee injury.
Sinner won Wimbledon back in July, but he has not played another match since then after missing the entire North American hard court swing, including the US Open.
Many were expecting the world number one to return for the Asian swing, but concerns were raised after Sinner withdrew from the China Open, which is taking place this week.
It appears that Sinner’s injury has not improved, as he has now confirmed that he will miss the entirety of the Asian swing by withdrawing from the Shanghai Masters.
