TNA held it’s Bound for Glory event on October 11, which saw several big moments take place, including the crowning of Leon Slater as the new TNA World Champion.
Also on the show, former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Shayna Baszler debuted to team with her former Pure Fusion Collective stablemate Zoey Serrano (Zoey Stark).
The duo, now named Apex, defeated Allie and Kiera Hogan to win the Knockouts Tag Team Championship
Shayna Baszler signs with TNA
Earlier today, Shayna Baszler’s interview with Denise Salcedo was released, in which it was confirmed that Shayna had officially signed with the company.
TNA would then go on to confirm Shayna’s signing, saying:
TNA Wrestling has signed Shayna Baszler, as first reported by Instinct Culture’s Denise Salcedo.
The multi-time champion in singles and tag team wrestling, Baszler is already a champion in TNA, as half of the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship with Zoey Serrano as The Apex – they won the titles at Bound For Glory on October 11, in Baszler’s TNA debut. Baszler made her pro wrestling debut in 2015 and also has had a long run in the MMA world, where she has 15 wins, with 13 by submission.
Shayna isn’t the only former WWE star to recently sign with TNA, as the former Wyatt Sicks members Samuel Shaw (Dexter Lumis) and Joseph Sawyer (Joe Gacy) recently signed with the company as Syx, as well as Shotzi Blackheart also being confirmed to sign with the company.
Which other former WWE stars may join TNA?
Coming out of Bound for Glory, there are other former WWE stars we could soon see join the company.
On the show, Erick Redbeard made an appearance to help his Syx stablemates defeat the Hardy Boyz, which could open the door to him signing with and appearing more frequently with the company.
TNA also reportedly considered bringing Sheamus in for Bound for Glory to face Moose in the spot that ultimately ended up going to Max Caster, though there is clearly interest from the company in the Celtic Warrior.
Apollo Crews (Uhaa Nation) also made a cameo appearance at TNA Slammiversary earlier this year.
Other recent WWE free agents such as Aleister Black, Zelina Vega and Nikki Cross could also all end up crossing the line soon.
