Carlos Alcaraz was simply unstoppable in the Vienna Open final.

The Spanish superstar gave Alex de Minaur little breathing space in the Austrian capital, triumphing 6-1, 6-3.

Alcaraz has now become only the third Spanish player to emerge victorious in Vienna since the tournament was first established in 1974.

Who were the other two Spaniards who lifted the title in Vienna?

Feliciano Lopez

Lopez, the former world number 12, was seeded eighth heading into the 2004 Vienna Open – then known as the BA-CA-Tennis Trophy.

Which ATP player do you think will win the 2026 Paris Masters title?

The Spanish star, then 23 years old, defeated Agustin Calleri, Bohdan Ulihrach, 2008 Wimbledon semi-finalist Rainer Schuttler and Davide Sanguinetti en route to the final.

Lopez survived a five-set thriller against Argentinian player Guillermo Canas in the final, triumphing 6-4, 1-6, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5.

Lopez returned the next year seeking to successfully defend his title.

After beating Alexander Peya and Oliver Marach, Lopez was defeated by future Davis Cup champion Radek Stepanek.

David Ferrer

Ferrer is widely considered to be one of the greatest players to have never won a Grand Slam title.

The Spaniard was a 27-time ATP champion, a Paris Masters champion in 2012, and a finalist at the 2013 French Open.

Around 11 years after Feliciano Lopez’s initial triumph, Ferrer became the second man to emerge victorious in Vienna.

Ferrer who had lost the 2014 final to Andy Murray, well and truly lived up to his standing as the number one seed in 2015, dropping just one set en route to the final.

In the championship spectacle, Ferrer defeated American Steve Johnson, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.

“I am glad for all the support in my second final in Vienna. “Am 33 years old. I hope I have two more years to go,” Ferrer said after the final.

“I am sure you will win ATP tournaments,” Ferrer also said to Johnson.
