Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Rylee Kohan from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has verbally committed to swim at The Ohio State University beginning in fall 2028. She wrote on social media:
“I am so humbled and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at THE Ohio State University! First, thank you to my parents for everything you do. Thank you for all the sacrifices you made to help me get where I am today. Your endless support and commitment mean the world to me, especially through this recruiting process. Thank you to all my friends and family for your love and encouragement over the years. I appreciate every single one of you. I also want to thank Coach Denny, Coach Glenn, and Coach Jay for your guidance. You changed my perspective on the sport, and I am truly grateful for your support and feedback. Finally, thank you Coach Bill, Coach Nacho, Coach Emily, and the rest of the OSU coaching staff for this incredible opportunity. So excited and GO BUCKS!!”
Kohan swims for the Greater Johnstown Community YMCA. Back in March, she competed at the 2026 YMCA Short Course Nationals, where she placed 7th in the 100 back in a 55.71 in finals. She was slightly faster in prelims with a lifetime best 55.27. In the 200 back, she finished 6th in finals with a 2:00.86 after swimming a lifetime best 2:00.07 in prelims. She also finished 16th in the 50 free in a 24.05 after swimming a 23.81 in prelims, and she led off the team’s 200 medley relay in a lifetime best 25.74 50 back.

- 200 back: 2:00.07
The Ohio State women finished 3rd out of 14 teams at the 2026 Big Ten Championships and went on to finish 12th at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Rachel Bockrath led the team at Big Tens with 81 individual points including a 2nd place finish in the 100 free (47.01).
Based on her best times, Kohan is just off what it took to final at Big Tens as it took a 22.54 50 free, 49.24 100 free, and a 1:58.51 200 back to earn a second swim.
Kohan joins Kiera Powers as a member of the class of 2032. Powers is from Columbus and primarily swims IM and mid-distance free.
