Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Junior Nationals Championship qualifier Elanor Saybolt has announced her verbal commitment to swim for Cornell University beginning in the fall of 2027.

“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Cornell University to continue my academic and athletic career! I’m so grateful to my family and friends for their unwavering support throughout the years. To the amazing NCAP coaches – Coach Bruce, Coach Dory, Coach Jeremy, and Coach Phil – I’m forever grateful for always believing in me and helping me to become the best person I can be. Thank you to Coach Pat and Coach Noah for giving me this opportunity, GO BIG RED! ”

A senior at Walter Johnson High School in Maryland, Saybolt has been a member of her school’s varsity swimming and diving team for the past three years. She currently trains year-round with Nation’s Capital Swim Club in Dunn Loring, Virginia, where she primarily specializes in free and back.

Saybolt posted a string of top swims at the 2025 Katie Ledecky Invitational, earning a second swim in two events and logging a personal best time in three events. She took 2nd in the 1650 free (16:52.92 – PB), 5th in the 1000 free (10:03.48 – PB), 6th in the 500 free (4:55.76) and 13th in the 200 free (1:52.06) after setting a best time of 1:51.80 during prelims.

At the 2026 NCSA Spring Championships in March, Saybolt turned in a series of strong performances. She placed 14th in the 1000 free (10:03.50) and 15th in the 500 free (4:54.25 – PB), and she contested the 200 free (1:52.34), 100 back (57.31 – PB) and 200 back (2:02.10 – PB).

Saybolt competed at the 2026 Junior National Championships (LCM) in August, where she raced four events. She contested the 200 free (2:07.44), 400 free (4:27.04), 800 free (9:09.61) and 1500 free (17:33.99), setting season best times in each.

Saybolt most recently competed at the NOVA Short Course Classic, kicking off the 2026-2027 season with several strong swims. She finished 3rd in the 500 free (5:00.38), 11th in the 1000 free (10:19.47), 14th in the 200 back (2:06.60) and 200 free (1:54.46), 16th in the 100 back (58.64), 26th in the 100 free (53.99) and 32nd in the 100 fly (59.92).

Best Times SCY:

  • 200 free – 1:51.80
  • 500 free – 4:53.93
  • 1000 free – 10:03.48
  • 1650 free – 16:52.92
  • 100 back – 57.31
  • 200 back – 2:02.10

A Division I Mid-Major program in the Ivy League, Cornell’s women’s team placed 6th at last season’s conference championships. Based on the results from the 2026 Ivy League Championships, Saybolt would have placed 15th in the 1650 free and landed in the ‘C’ final in the 500 free and 200 back, setting her up to be a strong contributor for Cornell right from the start.

The full list of recruits currently set to join Saybolt in Cornell’s class of 2031 includes Alexa Chang, Alyssa Bian and Anita Qian, who should all make for strong training partners.

*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process.
