Tuesday, November 3 was the date of this year’s NJPW Power Struggle 2026, which is the final major show of the year for the company.

With this being the final major event for the promotion, the show featured a ton of bouts being announced for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 21 on January 4 from the Tokyo Dome.

Here are the first seven matches announced for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 21 following Power Struggle 2026.

MJF vs. Ryohei Oiwa

On the Road to King of Pro Wrestling, MJF sent a video message to issue a challenge to Ryohei Oiwa.

Then at NJPW Power Struggle, Maxwell Jacob Friedman officially challenged Oiwa for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 21, which the G1 Climax 36 winner immediately accepted.

This battle of the headlocks will see a top AEW star clashing with one of the fastest rising stars in New Japan today.

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: YOH (c) vs. SHO (if YOH loses, he must retire. If SHO loses, he must leave House of Torture & reunite Roppongi 3K with YOH)

YOH and SHO are longtime tag team partners and they will continue their rivalry for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 21.

To up the ante, SHO challenged YOH to put his career on the line, while YOH made a counter offer that if SHO loses, he must leave House of Torture and reunite Roppongi 3K with him.

Jon Moxley vs. Shingo Takagi

After weeks of calling him out, Shingo Takagi finally gets what he wants and will clash with Jon Moxley in a singles match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 21.

With years of history and animosity, this should be a physical and potentially bloody war on January 4.

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships: Unbound Co. (Robbie X & Taiji Ishimori) vs. Ichiban Sweet Boys (Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles) vs. Mistico & X

Following their win in the Super Junior Tag League Final, Unbound Co’s Robbie X and Taiji Ishimori were confronted by Mistico, who revealed that he and El Desperado were relinquishing the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Titles.

However, X and Ishimori did not accept the titles and issued a challenge to Ichiban Sweet Boys after beating them. It will be a three-way with Unbound Co., Ichiban Sweet Boys and Mistico with a mystery partner to determine the new champions at the Tokyo Dome.

Will Ospreay vs. Callum Newman

After plenty of dissension over the last year, Will Ospreay and Callum Newman have been at odds over leadership of United Empire.

This came to a head at NJPW Power Struggle 2026 when Ospreay and Newman came to blows before Callum challenged his mentor to a singles bout at Wrestle Kingdom 21.

IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship: Gabe Kidd (c) vs. Yuya Uemura

Gabe Kidd‘s reign of terror as IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion continued with a win over Taichi at NJPW Power Struggle 2026.

Post match, Kidd assaulted New Japan President Hiroshi Tanahashi, leading to Yuya Uemura to make the save and challenge “The Mad Man” for his title.

After an attack from The Death Riders, Kidd accepted Uemura’s challenge for January 4 at the Tokyo Dome.

IWGP Heavyweight Championship: Yota Tsuji (c) vs. Kenny Omega

At NJPW Power Struggle 2026, Kenny Omega defeated Yota Tsuji and Boltin Oleg.

Thanks to this victory, “The Cleaner” has officially challenged Tsuji for the IWGP Heavyweight Title at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 21.

This will be one of the biggest main events of the year with Omega looking to regain the title he lost before leaving New Japan for AEW seven years ago.
