The Vienna Open has concluded for another year.

Carlos Alcaraz clinched the title on his tournament debut after defeating world number 10 Alex de Minaur in Sunday’s final.

Alcaraz, who defeated De Minaur 6-1, 6-4 in the championship spectacle, now has a record of 15-2 on the ATP Tour since returning from long-term injury in August.

The Spaniard seems to have had a positive effect on the Vienna Open, as evidenced by the tournament’s attendance statistics.

Vienna Open breaks their own attendance record

Last year, the Vienna Open set a tournament record by attracting approximately 82,000 fans to their event.

Event organisers have outdone themselves once again at the 2026 tournament, with 90,000 fans showing up to watch the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev compete in the Austrian capital.

As per the tournament website, the Marx Halle – one of the tournament’s stadiums – attracted around 1,000 more visitors per day than in 2025.

One cannot say if Carlos Alcaraz’s presence had a massive impact on these record-breaking numbers.

However, it is difficult to envisage a world in which the 23-year-old Spaniard does not have a positive influence on ATP event attendance.

Alcaraz is quite possibly the most popular player on the ATP Tour; and with the Spaniard making his tournament debut at the 2026 Vienna Open, one can imagine that fans were eager to catch a glimpse of the seven-time major champion in the flesh.

Carlos Alcaraz’s path to the 2026 Vienna Open title

Speaking of Alcaraz, the Spaniard has now travelled to France in search of a first Paris Masters title.

Carlos Alcaraz’s Paris Masters draw

Alcaraz, the second seed, has received an automatic bye to the second round in Paris.

There, he will face either Alex Michelsen or Jiri Lehecka. Alcaraz has a 1-0 record against Michelsen and a 4-1 record against Lehecka.

If Alcaraz advances to the third round, he will most probably face either 14th seed Brandon Nakashima or Frenchman Ugo Humbert.

Alcaraz is expected to play his first Paris Masters match on Wednesday.
